About

We built Opptix because cold email failed us

We did not set out to build a sales product. We set out to get our own company some customers.

Sending more did not work

Everyone tells a small firm to send more. Buy a list, load a cold email tool, write one template and press go. We did exactly that. It cost real money every month, and what came back was a handful of auto-replies, a domain on a blocklist, a restricted mailbox and a sales pipeline with no one in it.

The people we wrote to had no reason to buy from us that week, and they could tell the email was not written for them.

So we turned it round

Instead of asking who might one day want us, we asked who is already buying. That question has public answers. Councils publish tenders. Firms advertise the job they cannot fill. Contracts come up for renewal. Grants are awarded. Planning is approved. Each one is a company telling the world it is about to spend money.

The first week

We built a small internal tool to read those signals every day, score each one against what our company does, and draft a first message that named the real reason for writing. We called it BaseOneSDR. It was rough, and it was the first thing that worked. In its first week it found a live opportunity. We sent one short message about what the buyer had said they needed, and we won a $30k job.

That taught us the whole lesson. Volume was never the problem. We had been writing to people with no reason to reply. Warm is a fact: the buyer has said, in public, what they want.

Now it is yours

Opptix is that internal tool, rebuilt for other firms. It watches tenders, job adverts, contract endings, grants, planning and company news across the UK, and scores each one for your business. It writes every email and sends it in your hours, follow-ups too. It runs on its own whilst you sleep, within limits you choose, or you can approve each one yourself instead.

It runs on credits, so a one person firm can try it for nothing. We are a small business selling to small businesses, and we built the thing we needed.

The Signals list in Opptix, sorted by fit, with the type of each signal and how well it suits the business.
