AI bid writing
AI bid writing: a strong first draft, with a person in charge
AI bid writing uses software to draft answers to tender questions from the tender documents and your own company details. It can produce a solid first version quickly, but a person must check every claim, add real evidence and sign it off. Opptix drafts for you to review, never to submit alone.

What can AI write in a tender response?
AI is good at the heavy lifting of a first draft. It can read the questions, pull out what the buyer is scoring, structure an answer and turn your notes into clear paragraphs.
It is less good at knowing the facts of your business. It only knows what you have told it.
- Summarising long tender documents into the points that matter.
- Building an outline for each question, matched to the scoring criteria.
- Drafting answers from your policies, case notes and previous bids.
- Tightening wording and checking that every part of a question is answered.
What should AI never write for you?
Some parts of a bid must come from you, because the buyer is relying on them as true.
- Case studies, references and results. If it did not happen, it must not appear.
- Prices, rates and commercial commitments.
- Accreditations, insurance levels and legal declarations.
- Anything you could not explain if the buyer asked about it at interview.
How do you use AI without losing marks?
Buyers mark the answer to the question asked, with specific evidence. Generic text scores poorly, whoever or whatever wrote it. Give the AI your real examples and let it do the shaping.
Read each draft against the scoring criteria, remove anything vague, and add a number or a named outcome wherever you can. Then have someone who was not involved read it cold.
What does a good AI bid workflow look like?
- Decide first whether to bid. See tender win chance and the bid or no bid checklist.
- Load the tender documents and your company information.
- Generate an outline and first draft for each question.
- Replace placeholders with real evidence and check every claim.
- Review, price, sign off and submit well before the deadline.
Is it allowed to use AI in a tender?
Buyers set their own rules. Read the instructions in each tender, because some ask you to declare how AI has been used. You remain responsible for everything you submit, whoever drafted it.
How Opptix helps
Opptix finds and screens tenders first, so you only draft for the ones worth bidding on. Proposal and bid drafting is live on the proposal drafting page, and every draft waits for your review.
When drafting opens, it will work the same way as the rest of Opptix: it prepares a draft, you review it, and by default nothing is sent until you approve it. Files you add to an opportunity can be kept in your own SharePoint.
